Dr. Shou is the founder of HUAHE.  She studied mechanical design and automation at Xi’an Communication University and received her BSc degree in 1976.  After graduation, she joined the Institute of Electric Engineering under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, focusing on R&D of large-scale integrated circuit manufacturing equipment.  There she was awarded a PhD degree in 1983. 

Dr. Shou was admitted as a patent attorney to practice before the newly founded Chinese Patent Office in 1985.  She then joined NTD, one of the earliest and largest IP firms in China, and began her career as a patent attorney.  In 1994, she left NTD and set up another IP firm, China Sinda, with several business partners.  While with China Sinda, she spent several years intermittently working and studying in several Japanese IP firms. Several of her articles were published in the journals of Japan Patent Attorney Association during her work and study in Japan.  In 2001, Dr. Shou established her own IP practice, now known as HUAHE IP LIMITED, by taking over the Patent Agency affiliated to the Ministry of Metallurgy of P. R. China and reforming it into a private IP firm. 

Dr. Shou is still active in handling patent prosecution and litigation cases in the field of physics and mechanical engineering, and has advised a number of clients all the way from patent drafting, prosecution, to offensive lawsuit and defensive actions in invalidation proceedings, including: Nanya Plastics, Shengzhou Corporation, Bosenda and Zhongshan University. Dr. Shou also has extensive knowledge in trademarks and copyright registration.
